Pryor Softball Team

The Pryor softball team got off to an excellent start this week at home in the Trina Wheeler Festival. The Tigers were scoring early and often as Senior, Payton Jackson, started the year off right with a home run to lead off the bottom of the 1st inning against Elgin. Jackson would later add a second home run in the game. Junior, Second baseman, Zariah Diaz and Senior, first baseman, Maya Renshaw had three hits apiece as the Tigers took down the Owls, 11-3.

In Game two, Jackson homered on the first pitch she saw to kick start a four run first inning for Pryor against the Guthrie Blue Jays. Junior, third baseman, Caylee Kerr help lead the Tigers with three hits in the game. The Tigers would add three more runs in the second on their way to a 7-2 victory.

On Day two of the Festival, the Tigers squared off against defending 5A State Champion, Carl Albert. Senior, Tayla Vance, hit a Grand Slam to seal the victory over the Titans, 11-3.

Pryor finished the night under the lights against Bartlesville. After falling behind early, the Tigers came back and were leading 5-3 when Rhymee Rutherford delivered a Grand Slam to finish off the Bruins, 9-3.

The Tigers who are back in action on Monday Night at home against Booker T. Washington are led by Seniors, Payton Jackson, Coda Taylor, Maya Renshaw, Tayla Vance and McKenna Yancey.
