Completed plane

Pryor High School aviation students made school history on March 11, 2026, by reaching a landmark achievement in the Aviation and Aerospace program — the completion of the RV-12is aircraft build.

With the aircraft now fully assembled, the weight and balance process has also been completed, marking another important step toward flight readiness. The airplane is now ready for its airworthiness inspection. Once that inspection is finished, the aircraft will move into the flight test phase.

During flight testing, local certified flight instructor Joe Bacon and pilot Jim Bryant will fly the plane for approximately 10 hours before Tango Flight sells the aircraft.

The completion of the build represents the hard work, dedication, and teamwork of Pryor students who have spent countless hours building the aircraft. It also highlights the hands-on, real-world learning opportunities available through the district’s Aviation and Aerospace program.

Program leaders say they hope to host a large celebration in early fall to recognize this milestone and everyone who helped make it possible.

Special appreciation was also extended to the volunteer mentors who played an instrumental role throughout the project. Doug Robertson, Bob Webster, and Charlie Welch were recognized for their dedication, guidance, and support of Pryor’s student crew.

Superintendent Dr. Muller congratulated the students, staff, and mentors, stating, "This is a great milestone for our aviation program!"

The completed aircraft stands as a remarkable accomplishment for Pryor High School and a proud moment in the aviation program's history.
