Pryor High School Tigers in Mrs. Dorman’s Cherokee Language class recently put their word-weaving skills to the test in the Johnson O’Malley (JOM) Creative Writing Competition.
The competition challenges students to become effective writers by creating contemporary or historical pieces rooted in Cherokee family and community history, culture, language, and government. Through meaningful storytelling and thoughtful expression, these students showcased both their writing talents and their connection to Cherokee heritage.
Their engaging style and powerful stories earned recognition from the judges in multiple categories:
